Security

Ganba keeps almost nothing about you, so there is very little to protect.

Your data stays on your iPhone

Your words, your progress, your streak and your settings live in a database on your phone. Your iPhone’s passcode and built-in encryption protect them.

There is no account and no Ganba server. We hold no database of users, so there is nothing of yours for anyone to break into.

What leaves your phone

Five services hear from the app. None of them receives the words you study.

  • Apple handles every payment. Ganba never sees your card.
  • RevenueCat checks your purchase so Premium unlocks.
  • PostHog gets anonymous counts of what happens in the app. You can switch this off in Settings, under Share anonymous usage data.
  • Sentry gets a report when the app crashes.
  • Expo delivers small app updates.

All of it travels over encrypted connections. The privacy policy lists exactly what each one receives.

What Ganba doesn’t have

  • No account, so there is no password to leak.
  • No advertising and no advertising identifiers.
  • Nothing you do in the app is sent to an AI service.
